Chris Favreau is the training center coordinator and an instructor of INSTALL North Central States. Favreau joined the teaching staff in 2006. He is a third generation floor coverer with Local 68. Specializing in carpet, he spent 10 years in residential work and 11 years on commercial jobsites before starting his teaching career. His many certifications include Forbo, Wilsonart, Mohawk, Armstrong, NWFA, INSTALL Carpet and Resilient, OSHA 500 and Lay Rescuer First Aid CPR/AED.
Chris said he plans to lead a strong emphasis on green building practices, in addition to the traditional UBC floor covering curriculum learning modules. He also plans on continuing the tradition of hosting mill and manufacturer partners of the INSTALL program at the training center, where technical and education experts often visit to offer insight on new products and installation techniques. “I believe we need to explore training that enables our workers to be at the forefront of the green building movement, as well as any other training that will give us the competitive edge in our industries,” Favreau said.
